ROSIE
A friend contacted me to ask me if I knew of anyone who would re-home an old Pug Bitch. The old Pug's owner had died, and her niece had surrendered "Rosie" and an old Japanese Chin to Dogs Trust …. without much thought I said "I'll take the Pug".
Rosie came to live with me in Spring 2014 - she was 10, her breathing wasn't great, and she had a wonky back-end due to a very weak lower back. What she lacked in mobility she made up for in personality. She was the Boss - took no crap, and boy did she love playing with puppies … I have many fond memories of her playing with Peanut and Tor when they were puppies. I still love to watch the videos I have on my phone of their antics.
Sadly Rosie had to be put to sleep in 2017. Her lungs filled up with fluid (due to heart failure) and when I took her to the Vets I was told that if I had not taken her when I did she would not have survived the night … she would have drowned.
I still miss "the oul biddy" being about, trying (often in vain) to keep the hooligans in line. I will never forget my "Rosie Posie Pudding Pie". RIP Special Girl.
